Mr. Truman, In as much as I'm looking forward to the new GRIM JACK web-series (or graphic novel), I'm also wondering if there will be any new SCOUT series forthcoming? I'm chomping at the bit for new SCOUT materials seeing as DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT is dragging their heels in reprinting the old series. When's the second volume coming out?!?

No plans to do any new Scout material at present. I love the old boy, but the way I feel right now, following Grimjack, I want to take a break from blood and guts stuff and either work on something like Odin: the Wanderer or do something more comedy oriented. Just a phase I'm going through, maybe. As for the second Scout reprint, IDW has just annnounced that Vol. 2 will be appearing in January '08.

Mr. Truman: Two quick points: 1) It's been nearly 18 years since the last Scout (War Shaman) issue - in a way that's a helluva long break already. ;-)
2) Grim Jack is more of a science fiction blood and guts genre, whereas Scout is more of a futuristic tale with blend of mysticism and contemporary native folk-lore mixed with violence. They're both different. Nothing's wrong with taking a break just so as long as you do return to it. Look at Matt Wagner and his Mage trilogy, it's taken years but he've completed the 2nd volume with the third yet to come. Grim Jack may have put you on the map, but Scout is your baby. Do you honestly want to leave this mortal world leaving Scout unfinished? Take your break, get your phase out of your system, and please finish Scout. You have until the end of Mage III to do this, after that: I'm done with comics for good. Odin: the wanderer?

I really dig the Odin stuff on the website, I think it would be great to get a Odin graphic novel.
Id like to see another BlackLamb series but Im probaly in the minority there.
