Here's a question I've often wanted to ask: Of all the projects that I've been involved with over the years, which have been your top 3 favorites?

Jonah Hex is probaly my favorite, Black Lamb and Grimjack next. Scout and Spider are in there too. Can't think of a 'bad' project you did. Hex because westerns are probaly my favorite genre and the mix of horror, comedy and wild west is great, Lansdale's writing it great as always. Really enjoyed the Black Lamb thought it was a great concept and really fit your style of writing and drawing to a T. The characters were great, loved that paranoid cop. Great covers on that one.Grimjack, you and John O make a great team on that. Think Conan will get on this list when it comes out. Rod

My top three are about the same: Hex, Black Lamb and then Simon Girty. I definetly liked the latest Grim Jack and Ive always liked Scout. Anything you have done with Alcatena (Hawkworld, Spider) would be breathing down the neck of the others on my list. Hex is just really funny and wierd with great Western Artwork. Glanzman did a great job on that one too. Black Lamb was really good. I loved the sci fi/monster aspect of that one. I thought the story was great and liked the werewolf friend of Lamb and the cop was great too. The villians were twisted and it was a nice run. The covers were great on that, have to agree with that. Girty just has a great story and the black and white art is some of your best stuff. Its cool that its a realistic take, but the story stands alone as just a great comic. I love the cover on that book.

1. Scout - My favorite comic series of all time. I loved everything about it. Just a fun series to read with characters I like in a well thought out world. 2. Wilderness - The history teacher in me just loves this. All the research that went into it shows in the details. 3. Spider - The first time I ever saw your art was in an article in Comic Scene about the first Spider mini. I actually didn't get to read it for another 6 years or so but the few pictures in the magazine captured my attention I never forgot them. When I finally read it I was very pleased.

Scout-- Emmanuel's story just clicked with me. And now that I'm a father, I want to go back and re-read War Shaman this winter. There's nothing particularly heroic about Santana but he's a man who does what he needs to survive. It's everyone around him that forces him into some kind of action. He wants the simple life with his wife and sons but it's all take away from him piece by piece. Hawkworld-- I love this version of Hawkman. The story of Katar's fall and redemption is a strong story. Also, Alcatena's inking on this book is beautiful. Grimjack: Killer Instinct-- I originally discovered Grimjack after you were gone. Your return to the title has been a welcomed homecoming. I don't think your artwork has ever looked better.

Ok the first two things that come to mind are Scout and GrimJack. Then Wilderness. However I think Wilderness is the most important thing that you have done. And it was the best thing that you had done artistically at that point. But on a draftsmanship level...the new Grimjack without a doubt. You brought yourself to another level. It reminds me of Tony Iommi's jump in guitar playing on Black Sabbath's Mob Rules. I thought his chops were razor sharp on that one. I can't think of too many examples of that in comics. Most guys just start to suck or the improvement is gradual. I can't tell you how happy I was reading the first issue. Because I was afraid of being let down, but you guys knocked it out of the ballpark. So, when is the next one coming out ? Well I'm looking forward to the Conan stuff. I know this might be the wrong place for this but, thanks for letting us know about the tragic loss of Keith Parkinson. I got into his stuff back in the day and I've been a fan ever since.

Conan would be at the top of this list, but I assume you are asking about already printed projects. 1.Grimjack. This series brought a whole new feel to the comic scene. Gritty dark violence with good writing. It really created a new style that inspired up and coming creators. Looking back you were one of the young turks that ushered in a new era of comics. 2.Scout. I think the whole aspect of the struggle against the system set in a post apokoliptic world is what drew me into this series. Your cover art was really strong on these books. A third is hard to choose from for there really were so many. Black Lamb, Hex, Hawkman, Rolling Fortress. I think the new Grim Jack would probably fall here but havent scored the books and have only seen it here in the art store and it looks very sharp. 3.I'll give it to Black Lamb, it seemed you really gave more effort producing the art for this series than some of the others.

Although I am late on this one, my choices were not as easy as I thought they would be. The sad fact about this is the first time I saw your artwork was Starslayer #13 and I fell in love with it. I can say with all honesty I don't have a least favorite (even Newstralia)...so drum roll please... 1) Jonah Hex: Besides the fact he is my favorite DC character, I think you and Joe L hit him dead on. The stories were so much fun, and the artwork was some of the best I have ever seen you do. (I love the city shoot out in Two Gun Mojo when Hex is making his escape) Plus the fact you and westerns go hand in hand. No one does a western like TT does nowadays...and in my humble opinion not even John Severin can touch you (and he's real good....) 2) GrimJack: What can you say about the last real original concept comics had? Cynosure was the place to be and read about. The fact that this was your first real series and the aoount of energy and power is amazing. "Buried Past" is without a doubt one of the greatest storties ever printed, and that was one of the first ones in a long line. Even when you take a look at the later stories, tha writing and art is so strong ("Fistful of Cotton" may have been your finest moment as an artist on the series) 3) The Kents: This one was a tough one. I wanted to go Scout, or Simon Girty, but the whole bleeding Kansas story was just too good to pass up, plus the pathos and tragesy that was this series made it my favorite DC to read while it was going on. Just to say it again, I dig all the stuff, a favorite three is a hard one for me, as my friends will tell you I am convinced you are the second coming of Steranko. Now excuse me while I go blush as this sudden rash of fanboy fever leaves me...

Hard to pick just three, but I probably have the fondest/strongest memories of: Grimjack Prowler Jonah Hex (although Scout is probably tied with Hex for third...)

I've only actually read The Spider and Scout. I don't think you can count New America and Swords of Texas, since you didn't illustrate them. Actually, all of this reminds me -- I need to look into some TPBs of your stuff. Grimjack, Jonah Hex, etc.

Grimjack- For making this 'old fanboy smile. Grinner is in my opinion, the greatest character to come out of the 80's. And it is so wonderful to introduce him to my kids and their friends, who after reading him, all agree on one thing: Wolverine and the Punisher are pansies compared to John Gaunt. The Kents- Wow. Knew Clark was raised by a great family, but to learn they could kick butt and take names was just an awesome read. Jonah Hex- Nostalgia and admiration for bringing life back into one of the best western characters of all time. On all of these and others not mentioned, thank you Tim, thank you very much for helping to put the "art" back in comics. Sincerely, Joey

I can do shirts of anything I own the copyright to, plus, most probably, Grimjack. Scout, Wilderness, Odin, Chiang, Black Lamb, Time Beavers, etc. (Grimjack logo shirts are available at the GJ website, by the way. They're pretty neat.) The t-shirt idea has been on my mind again very much of late. Must be because summer's comin' on.

Grimjack is naturally my favorite, followed by Scout and Jonah Hex. I also enjoyed your work in the Rifts Sourcebook Wormwood. I really wish you were able to do a series or graphic novel on Wormwood. Probably won't happen, but I can hope!

I have liked all of your work so far...but since your knife is so shiny and pressing up against my jugular, I will try and type out a few favorites before I pass out. 1. Grimjack: I have always loved the eternal hero concept and this really hit a chord with me. Moorcock, Dr. Who etc. The art and characters are what really bit into me though. Good stuff, want more! 2. Scout: Post apocalyptic awesomeness. I am not sure if someone who did not live during the cold war could appreciate the fear of what might have happened. Although I am getting a distinct feeling that this may be rearing up again. 3. Conan, but if we are talking older material, HawkWorld. I loved Katar and Shiera again the eternal hero and scifi, and class war, good strong storytelling and punch you in the face, the crunch of broken teeth- art. Thanks for your hard work and looking forward to see more of it...

I just bought my first piece of Timbo art, and was just thinking what were my favorites, Anyways: 1. Scout-Since it was my first exposure to Tim's art. 2. Hawkworld-Probably my favorite Tim story. Katar's fall and Redemption on that isle still bring a tear to my eye. Are they're any art pages still for sell? 3. Lone Ranger and Tonto-cuz it was cool to see a more modern take on the characters. The various media projects since Clayton Moore left it have never measured up, except Tim's
